Nursery & commercial growout procedure for featherback
(Vietfish International - VASEP)
The study on “Artificially breeding featherback” carried out 1998-1999 by M.A. Tran Ngoc Nguyen, acting Director of Can Tho Department for Agriculture and Rural Development consist of following stages: growing out broodstock and injecting gonadotropic agents, gaining eggs, artificial fertilizing and transferring to incubation stage.

After 5-day incubation depending on temperature), fish eggs hatch. 4-day fingerlings are moved to nursery places until reaching 30 days old. This technology has been transferred widely in Mekong Delta provinces, contributing to supplying seeds to farmers.
